Today, for the second night in a row Japanese Rock outfit ‘Porno Graffiti’ have been in town. They’re playing Yokohama Stadium. From what i can gather they are pretty huge over here – especially with teenage girls. There fans were here all day hanging about the stadium buying up the many articles of merchandise that they have – we’re talking loads of different things from 5 types of bag to towels to pencil tins.

I went and recorded outside the venue whilst they were playing. I got there just after what was seemed like a monsoon – hence in the recording there is some distant thunder. The fans must have been drenched!! They were still cheering though.

The band sound quite good from this distance, they use alot of ambience and it carries well. They also use a lot of pyrotechnics including flames that shoot up twice as high as the stadium – another recording, not this one, includes some good firework sounds.
